Formed in 1921 by member Junior Leagues, the Association exists to add value to Junior Leagues in their fulfillment of the Junior League Mission – to promote voluntarism, develop the potential of women, and improve communities through the effective action and leadership in trained volunteers.
AJLI is a 501 (c)3 not-for-profit organization. All programs and activities are supported by membership dues, foundation and corporate grants and revenue-producing initiatives. AJLI is governed by a 19-member Board of Directors, all of whom are members of the Junior Leagues in their communities.
