The Junior League of Saginaw Valley wishes to thank everyone who made this year's Festival a great success. Because of your support, the league is able to continue helping those in the Tri-County area.
Below, read about our previous Festival: The Junior League of Saginaw Valley celebrated their 19th annual fundraiser, Festival of Trees, November 16-18 at Apple Mountain Resort. The theme was “Cheers Around the World.” The weekend was full of Christmas festivities, which included 60 or more trees, wreaths and decorations. In addition, a holiday shopping area was provided with 20 or more vendors. In the past, Festival of Trees has supported the Junior League of Saginaw Valley with funding their community projects. In the past three years, Festival of Trees has supported the Regional Education Wing of the Saginaw Art Museum, donating $30,000. Currently, the community project is Facing Forward: Journey into Womanhood at the Creative Spirit Center in Midland, providing at-risk young women a positive experience with adult women through activities that build self-esteem, develop their potential as women and grow a sense of connection to their community. During this three-year effort we hope to facilitate the development of physical, psychological and spiritual wellness of at-risk youth through ongoing classes, playshops, conferences, speakers and outreach programs. During the event community members purchased raffle tickets and placed them in the boxes representing the trees, wreaths or decorations they wished to win. Friday featured Senior Day providing $1 off admission at the door. Our Premiere Night Party took place to celebrate our sponsors, decorators and vendors in the evening on Friday. Saturday was a day set aside for children, with Santa’s Breakfast taking place in the morning. Finally, on Sunday the trees, wreaths and decorations were raffled off by Katie O’Mara of WNEM TV 5.
